Are you a person who has experienced sexual trauma?
What would it be like if you were FREE?
What if you could RETURN TO WHOLENESS?
According to goodtherapy.org "3.5% of the U.S. population will experience PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) in any given 12-month period. Almost 37% of these cases can be classified as “severe.” Although men are statistically more likely to experience traumatic events than women, women are more than twice as likely to develop PTSD, perhaps because sexual assault leads to PTSD more frequently than do other forms of trauma, and women experience sexual assault at higher rates."
It is natural for our human instincts to take over when we experience a traumatic event, such as sexual assault. We freeze, we fight, we run, we disassociate, we do whatever it takes to survive. This pattern of survival, when not addressed then creeps into every area of life. PTSD can affect everything and it can feel like being victimized over and over again.
This process can be difficult for family members and friends to understand, which can cause feelings of increased isolation on top of the deep pain of being violated. Common symptoms of PTSD are flashbacks, nightmares, feeling on edge all the time, angry outbursts, inability to focus, brain fog, intense feelings of shame, guilt and rage, feelings of depression and a lack of passion or feeling like you have little or no ability to truly live life.
Seeking treatment can change all of this, healing can happen and you can find your life again.
I'm Brenna Rae and I'm here to help.
